Coasteering at Porthpean beach, St Austell

This is an activity not to be missed. It starts with a speed boat ride from Porthpean beach to one of our local beaches. You will then make your way back, either by swimming, climbing, jumping or low-level traversing.

This is a very physical but fun activity and our trained team will keep a pace suitable for all. We provide wet-suits, buoyancy aids and helmets. You will need to bring a swimsuit, towel and trainers that can get wet.

Kayaking or Stand Up Paddle-boarding SUP?

Times: Available throughout the day. Session time 2 hours

Group booking size: Maximum 5 persons

Cost: 
Single & Double kayaks: Adult £26 | Child £18
Mega SUP & Rafted Canoe tours require a minimum of 4 people: Adult £20 | Child £14

MegaSUP at Porthpean

Starting from Porthpean Beach, using a craft of your choice, you will; explore caves and archways, find isolated beaches and view marine life whilst discovering one of Cornwall's most spectacular coastline areas.

Each tour will be paced to be suitable for all.

Archery

Times: Available throughout the day. Session time 2 hours

Archery at Porthpean

Archery is a challenging sport with a huge history and tradition. It demands concentration combined with excellent hand-eye coordination. We have a dedicated covered archery range and skillful coaches to get the most out of your draw whatever the weather.

What to bring

Archery is undercover but held outside and so requires comfortable clothing suited to the weather on the day. You should ensure that you bring a long sleeve top with you to act as protection from the bow-string.  It is also recommended that you bring a drinks bottle, sun-cream, sun-hat and any medication that you may need whilst on activity.

Beach Guardian

Join the beach guardian team for a two hour fun-filled and educational beach session

Dates and Times: 

Wednesday 3rd August - 10.30 am till 12.30 pm (2 hours)
Friday 7th August - 12.30 pm till 2.30 pm (2 hours)
Monday 17th August - 10.30 am till 12.30 pm (2 hours)

From beach cleaning to shark eggs, giant jigsaws to arts and crafts; the team has prepared an exciting taster into what it's like to work in marine conservation and as a marine biologist. If conserving the planet is a passion of yours and you enjoy spending time on the beach, then be sure to join us.

What you need to bring

Please bring appropriate clothing for all weather conditions, including waterproofs, sunhat and sun-cream. Sessions will still go ahead, even in the rain. Additionally, please ensure you have a filled re-usable water bottle to keep hydrated.

All necessary equipment will be provided. It is not a requirement to wear a face mask, though if you feel safer, the team have re-usable masks to distribute, and for you to keep afterwards. We will also have hand-sanitiser available. All we ask is that you are sure to wash your hands thoroughly before and after each session.

Snorkel and Safari

Join the 'Your Shore Beach Rangers' for a snorkel lesson and safari at Porthpean beach.

Dates & Times: 
Friday 21st August: 1.30 pm till 4.30 pm
Monday 24th August: 3.30 pm till 6.30 pm

Group booking size: Maximum 10 young people per session, Age 11+ years

Cost: £free (except parking)

Venue: Porthpean Beach, PL26 6AX

Build up your confidence in the water through a fun-filled snorkel lesson where you will be taught how to use the equipment and how to get the most out of your snorkel. Plus get the chance to use those skills in a small snorkel safari to explore the rocky reef around the beautiful Porthpean coastline

What you need to bring

All equipment can be provided if booked but please bring your own if you have it.
Equipment required; FULL wet-suit (no shorties), mask, snorkel (no full-face masks), fins, full water bottle

Please bring warm clothing to change in to after the snorkel. Young people participating must be confident swimmers.

|We will provide hand-sanitiser, we ask that you wash your hands thoroughly before and after each session. Please be aware that if we are unable to get into the sea then we will run a rock-pooling session, so please bring appropriate footwear for that.
